In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices that contain batteries, we are required to inform you of the following:
Obligation to Return Used Batteries
As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries. These must not be disposed of in household waste. You can return used batteries free of charge to local collection points or retail stores. Alternatively, you can also return batteries to us by mail; in this case, we will reimburse the postage costs for returning the old batteries.
Meaning of the Symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out garbage bin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Below this symbol, you may also find the chemical abbreviation of the contained harmful substances:
“Pb” indicates lead (more than 0.004% by weight)
“Cd” indicates cadmium (more than 0.002% by weight)
“Hg” indicates mercury (more than 0.0005% by weight)
Environmental Protection and Health
Used batteries contain valuable raw materials that can be recycled, but they also contain harmful substances that can damage the environment and human health if not disposed of properly. By disposing of batteries correctly, you contribute to protecting the environment.
